Family: Married Elan in 1971 and has 4 adult children Julia, Victoria, Richard and James.

Sporting Background: Geoff played League Badminton and represented the Isle of Man in cricket on numerous occasions as an opening bat and leg spin bowler.  He is a keen golfer and plays off a handicap of 12 and was an entrant in the 2005 Parish Walk. He is a former committee member, Chairman and President of the Manx Motor Cycle Club, which runs the TT and Manx Grand Prix Motorcycle Races and has been a Member of the Isle of Man Sports Council for 13 years and it’s Executive Chairman since 2002.   Geoff has been appointed as Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in the Isle of Man in 2011.

Profession: Advocate.  Geoff was a Senior Partner in one of the largest legal firms on the Isle of Man and now acts for them as part-time consultant.  He was a former President of the IOM Law Society and the Chairman of both the Social Services Appeals Tribunal and the Disability Appeals Tribunal.

Hobbies: Geoff is a keen follower of all sports and is an avid football supporter, his main team being Manchester City.   He is the Chairman of the Manx Gateway Club and Project 21 and is a committee member of Manx Mencap, which are all charities involved in the care of people with Learning Disability.  Project 21 is presently attempting to erect a new Headquarters and Social Centre with daytime respite care for its members on the Isle of Man. Geoff’s other hobby is travelling.

IGA History: Geoff attended the 1985 inaugural Games as a Spectator.  He was involved with the legal aspect of setting up the IGA Limited Company and subsequently was elected as the Honorary Legal Adviser to the IGA in 1997, whilst attending the Jersey Games. He has attended every Games since in that capacity.
