"It is with deep regret that we announce the death

Maurice Lickens formed the
Isle of Wight Island Games Association following the decision taken at
the successful 1985 Isle of Man Year of Sport. He became its inaugural
Chairman and remained in this office until being elevated to his present
position as President in 1998.
He was co-opted to the Executive
Committee in 1991 being Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 1993 Games in the
Isle of Wight and was at the helm as Chairman for yet another successful
Games, attended by H.R.H Princess Anne. At this time automatic
